Church Fairs this Weekend 11/23 2019


Holly Day Fair Congregational Church Of Union, CT Route 190, Union Saturday, November 23rd From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. A traditional holiday fair for all the family Fresh sprays, Fresh cemetery boxes Fresh Door Baskets. Lots of children's activities. Home-baked goodies cookies by the pound.Teacup Raffle—gift baskets and gift cards from many local businesses. Unique Handmade Christmas Gifts and Seasonal Ornaments. Mr and Mrs Claus will arrive at 10 a.m. by firetruck to take photos. 

St Mary's Church in Portland will hold their annual Holiday Fair on Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.at the church. Basket raffle, jewelry/pocketbook table, bake sale, crafts and tag sale. The Knights of Columbus serve breakfast and lunch.

Holiday Stroll Niantic November 30, 2019

16th Annual Holiday Stroll

Come kick-start your holiday season in Niantic at the 14th Annual Niantic Main Street Holiday Stroll. This family-friendly day features:
  • horse-drawn carriage rides,
  • shops & restaurant specials,
  • holiday music and complimentary hot cider and cocoa on the town green,
  • children’s arts, crafts and games,
  • Annual Chili Cook-off,
  • a Smore Station,
  • a “Snow-Flake Drop” featuring discounts and giveaways to local shops and restaurants, and last, but not least,
  • the arrival of Santa on a shiny red fire truck just in time for the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony beginning at 5:00 pm on Liberty Green in the heart of Niantic Village.
  • So come early, and stay late. The fun takes place on Saturday, November 30th beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Holiday Light Fantasia Goodwin Park

Holiday Light Fantasia is a much loved Greater Hartford tradition and this season's destination.  The 2-mile show transforms Goodwin Park into a drive-through wonderland of holiday spirit with a beautiful collection of over 1 million lights.  

Whimsical holiday scenes, familiar characters, and local tributes shine bright in larger-than-life lighted scenes and 200 individual displays.  Lighted animations celebrate not only Christmas but Hanukkah, New Years and Three Kings Day.

Benefitting the Channel 3 Kids Camp, the Hartford Holiday tradition welcomed more than 100,000 visitors last year!  The display begins on Thanksgiving and continues w until New Years Day 2020. 

At $15 per car, this is a bargain!!

Mystic Holiday Boat Parade on November 30, 2019

Named as one of the Top 5 Best Holiday Light Displays in New England by Yankee Magazine!


Santa Claus is coming to town and so is Mystic’s Holiday Lighted Boat Parade in Historic Downtown Mystic on November 20, 2019.

Santa arrives at 2 p.m. on a 60’ tug boat and is greeted by a large crowd in Mystic Park.  After a brief break, festivities in the Park resume with the lighting of the Christmas tree at 6 p.m.  and the 13th annual Lighted Holiday Boat Parade will begin a few minutes later.

Don’t miss this spectacular show of lighted boats. The vessels will parade down the Mystic River from the Mystic Seaport at 6:20 p.m. and return to the Mystic River Park, where spectators and judges will be gathered. 


Boats will be judged in a variety of categories, see their website for details.

The only cost to enter is a donation of a toy, coat, or food item for the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.

If your sailboat, powerboat, dinghy, or high-speed rowboat is still in the water, light your vessel, and please join them your chance to dazzle the judges.

Pasta dinner  Friday 5 pm – 7 pm. Chicken a la King and cranberry salad on Saturday from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m

First Congregational Church of Stratford Holiday Fair and Tag Sale Friday, Nov. 8, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Craft vendors and items for sale including books, jewelry, gift baskets, holiday decorations, Cabot cheese and more. Biscotti and Beyond Fall Schedule 2019

In the warm months, Simonne Mularski sells her biscotti and cookies at local farmer's markets. Now that the weather is getting colder do you have to wait until the weather warms up again? Absolutely not.

Biscotti and Beyond is open and producing delicious biscotti just about every day of the week. Fall flavors include pumpkin, gingerbread, maple walnut and apple caramel.
