Dr. Pamela Hall details the life of one of Governor Jonathan Trumbull's daughters and sister to famous Revolutionary War artist, John Trumbull. Faith had extraordinary artistic talent in needlepoint. She married General Jedediah Huntington but suffered from an undiagnosed depressive disorder which caused her demise. Cemetery Tour St John Middletown

Come and help us celebrate our 175th anniversary by recognizing some of our former parishioners in the old cemetery behind the church. The tour will take place on Saturday Morning July 28 at 9:45 a.m. following a memorial at 9:00 a.m. at the altar at the new cemetery on Johnson Street. 

I will be leading the tour and I hope to be able to introduce you to some people who helped to form the parish that we have today. Everyone is welcome, wear shoes that are appropriate for walking on uneven ground and please. resist the temptation to touch the stones, they are very fragile. 

Light refreshments will be offered after the tour.

Fife and Drum Ancient Muster and Parade 2018

The parade begins at Main and Kirtland Streets and heads down Main Street to Devitt’s Field. 

The Deep River Ancient Muster is the oldest and largest gathering of fife and drum participants and enthusiasts in the world. Up to 80 fife and drum corp groups dressed in historical attire converge in Deep River and parade along Main Street, passing historic buildings while performing the music that provided the cadence for troops marching into battle during the Revolutionary War.

Muster starts at 7 p.m. Friday at Devitt's Field; parade starts 11 a.m. Saturday

This workshop, led by florist and horticulture professional Debbie Brown, will begin with a short lecture in the barn followed by a walk in the garden to learn about cutting and conditioning flowers. Then back to the barn where you will master the art of creating wonderfully unique arrangements by making one to take home with you. 2018 Riverfront Music Series


You'll find a perfect music festival atmosphere right in Glastonbury, CT. Wednesday evenings all throughout July & August.

These free concerts are scheduled for four Wednesday nights in July (and one show in August for 2018) from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The concerts will be held at the Welles Street Riverfront Park on the lawn behind the Riverfront Community Center. Free parking and shuttle service will be available at 180 & 200 Glastonbury Boulevard, which is adjacent to Somerset Square. Join us for great music in the summer air. The Roxbury Pickin’ ‘n Fiddlin’ Contest is a country and bluegrass music celebration, with musicians from all over the country competing. Guests can enjoy live music performances, picnicking, food from local vendors and an array of CDs, instruments and crafts for purchase. The musical categories are old-time fiddle; old-time banjo; mandolin; trick and fancy fiddle; finger picking and flat picking guitar; bluegrass banjo and band playoff. 

Bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic and beverages. Food, refreshments and crafts will be available for purchase. No dogs.
