Saturday April 11 2015 is opening day for trout fishing in the state of Connecticut. With over 180 public lakes and ponds and thousands of miles of rivers and streams fisherman find Connecticut a great place to enjoy their sport.
To find information about stocking of trout, go to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection website.
Licenses are required to fish in Connecticut for everyone over the age of 15 and under 65. You can purchase them online or from a variety of locations around the state including town halls.
Be sure to get a copy of state regulations as to when you can fish, as well as minimum size and maximum number of fish you can remove from any body of water. If you catch and release then you are not limited to numbers.
