As some of you may know my husband Al has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. We are always looking for ways to help with some of the symptoms of the disease, Exercise is one way to do that.
We have found a class taught by Kitsch at the Senior Center on Tuesday's at 1:00 p.m. We have only attended one class so far but we can tell we are going to enjoy it and the participants. It is based on the Big and Loud program which focus' on balance and speech. With Parkinson's the volume of the voice decreases and this program helps suffers get their voice back.
The program uses a chair, weights, tennis balls and stretchy bands. It exercises just about every inch of the body and is an hour of almost constant motion. I highly recommend this class to anyone over 60 who is in need of help with their balance.
The class takes place at the Middletown Senior Center at 61 Durant Terrace.
